
2022 CONSTRUCTION & HANDS-ON CLASSES
Construction classes at National provide hands-on learning opportunities with a project you can take back home! These classes require pre-registration and a materials fee to cover your cost of supplies.
Class sizes are limited. Register early for priority registration!

CONSTRUCTION:
FULL BODY PEOPLE PUPPET
Instructor: Linda MacAuslan
Wednesday: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Cost: $65 | Limit: 8 people (1 per group max)
Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate
You will use a pre-sewn kit to build your own full body moving mouth puppet with detachable legs using fabric, foam, hand sewing, and gluing. Kits will be beige or brown flesh tone fabric.

CONSTRUCTION: PUPPETS CHILDREN CAN MAKE & USE
Instructor: Patsy Coffin & Linda MacAuslan
Friday: 1:45 pm - 4:00 pm
Cost: $10 | Limit: 10 people
Skill Level: Beginner
Make a small moving mouth puppet that can be easily replicated to make enough for your classroom of eager new puppeteers using fabric or paper bags. We’ll also discuss strategies for working with the children. Let's equip our youngest generation of puppeteers!
All materials will be provided.

CONSTRUCTION: TURNING
STUFFED ANIMALS INTO PUPPETS

Wednesday: 3:00 - 5:00 pm

Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate
We’ll walk through techniques you can use to turn stuffed animals into puppets. Please bring a medium-sized stuffed animal. One in the $10-15 range and with space for your arm works best. All tools will be provided.

CONSTRUCTION: COSTUMING FOR PUPPETS

Come make an angel costume and leave with the skills to make and adapt costumes for personalities and sizes – plus your own emergency costume kit starter! Scissors/hand sewing supplies will be available but you may bring your own or a sewing machine.
